This year, Dotted Line celebrates the close of our sixth year in business. As with most small businesses, it’s been a journey of ups, downs, victories, and a whole lot of learnings. 2020 proved to be no different with COVID-19, as we guided our team and our clients through an event that turned most norms upside down. And yet, as I reflect on this year and those leading up to it, what I am most grateful for on this journey is YOU.
You have inspired us, challenged us, laughed with us, and made the work we do meaningful for our team and your businesses. From the naming of a 43-mile-long Virginia trail, to launching new campaigns that recruited volunteer firefighters, to building inbound marketing programs that drove millions of dollars of new business, to launching new brands and websites, and to conducting research projects across the nation, it has been an honor to help you grow your business.
This year has challenged all of us. While the pandemic forced a lot of new habits and behaviors (like the pervasive role of Zoom in our lives), it also inspired us to look out into the world and ask ourselves, “How can we help?” We heard stories of small businesses struggling to shift their sales approaches online and non-profits looking for creative ways to connect with their communities digitally. We created the When Joy Fills the Air campaign – a public health initiative to remind people to sing “Happy Birthday” while washing their hands – to support Richmond-based non-profit CelebrateRVA. We partnered with small businesses to offer our communications and strategic services as a means to give more for less. And we shared Dots of Delight with our social community in an attempt to bring light to readers during difficult times. The efforts our team dove into this year were fantastically diverse, but what they all have in common is a clear purpose.
At Dotted Line, we believe our purpose is our clients. We live that daily through service as strategic champions for them, creating exponential impact for their businesses. Serving others has been a critical thread in the fabric of Dotted Line since the beginning. It gives us courage to take risks, stay true to what we know, and stay the course when times are tough. Most importantly, it helps us focus on what matters most. Every time you work with our team, you are helping us fuel something bigger than ourselves.
Thank you for another year filled with meaningful impact and lasting relationships. To 2021 and many years after …
