Does goodwill have the power to create real impact for a brand?

As a new start-up, Twist Broadband wanted to continue to raise awareness and attract new customers. We have already created a successful launch campaign dramatizing the problems with their competitors. But to engage with more potential customers, we decided to bring Twist’s values to life. And instead of just creating more ads, we decided to create some goodwill.

To do this, we found a real family to surprise and delight. And went above and beyond to make their “wish” for better Wi-Fi come true.

We utilized local sports celebrity Danny Miller (the public announcer for the 49ers, San Jose Sharks, and popular KBAY DJ) to help us with the surprise – which included upgrading the family’s Wi-Fi and all their devices while they were out.

We documented the entire process, creating an engaging informative campaign for all to see. This included a long-form film, short-form content, and digital and out-of-home executions. To extend the reach of the video, we created a sweepstakes that gave more families the chance to win their own tech upgrades and used local radio and social media to announce and promote the contest. As part of our “Wish” campaign, we also provided support to a local charity that empowers families in need to connect to the internet through free devices and education.

And the campaign results were all that we could wish for.

User traffic to the Twist website increased 139%, correlating with a 161% increase in completed orders. On Meta, the “Wish” campaign had the strongest reach, outperforming other traffic-focused campaigns in driving link clicks and views.

The campaign also boosted our organic efforts. Engagement rate for Facebook content was +14,217% and Instagram content was 2,098% compared to benchmarks for average engagement rates.

We built a strategic partnership with local nonprofit Sunday Friends, integrating a donation component into the brand activation. Through Twist’s support, the initiative helps provide families with access to essential devices and digital skills—empowering them to break barriers and build stronger futures.
